Ariana Gomes recognized with the Maxine B. Wishart – Agent of Change Award, which exemplifies the highest values of the school, as well as receiving the highest scholastic award from the Department of Teaching & Learning. She accomplished these academic achievements while mentoring, serving, and leading in other roles, including serving as vice president of UM’s Future Educators Association in her senior year.

Leia Fooks earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology with a near-perfect GPA. “The faculty in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Sciences is so knowledgeable and willing to do whatever to see their students succeed,” she said. “I am very grateful to have learned from them.”

Rachel Benowitz graduated with a double major in human and social development and psychology with a minor in exercise physiology. “My experience at the School of Education and Human Development has been an influential part of my college journey,” she said.

Giovanna Harrell began her educational journey at the University of Miami in 2017 after receiving the Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship covering full tuition. She graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and a perfect 4.0 GPA. Now, she is planning to apply for medical school.
