Benowitz was also leader in the UM chapter of Camp Kesem, which hosts a free week-long summer camp for children who have been impacted by a parent’s cancer. “As a counselor I have had the opportunity to meet children that inspire me and help spread the camp magic even in a virtual environment,” she said.
Along with her research and service, Benowitz has been a member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, the Rho Lambda Honor Society, and the Order of Omega Honor Society. She will be attending Palo Alto University to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis on pediatric behavioral health care.
