This resource is a presentation on academic language that provides a close look at language demands, such as vocabulary, language functions, syntax, and discourse. It also connects these features with examples from history standards. This resource is best suited for other teachers and for professional development purposes although it could be adapted to provide instruction to higher level high school students.
