Alexandra Martinez is a Police Officer with the University of Miami Police Department. Prior to coming to UM, Officer Martinez served ten years with the Pinecrest Police Department where she was criminal investigator. As a Detective she worked on all types of cases but she found the work she did with Special Victims cases (Sex Crimes, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse, Child Pornography, Missing Persons) the most interesting and rewarding. Officer Martinez is also a Florida Victims Services Practitioner, a designation issued by the Florida Attorney General’s Office. Officer Martinez now manages programs for UM students and staff as the department’s Crime Prevention Officer. She is dedicated to educating the UM community about personal safety with an emphasis on preventing Special Victims cases from infiltrating the campus.
