Janelle Prieto is a dynamic Integrated Branding and Communications Professional with over 16 years of experience working in the United States, Latin America and Europe within both the non-profit, sports and corporate sectors. Janelle has worked with diverse industries to establish a track record of building successful brands, social impact programs and external facing marketing campaigns that deliver compelling and measurable results.

As the newly appointed Chief Marketing and Community Officer for FIFA World Cup 26tm Miami Host Committee, Janelle role will be to spearhead the strategic direction of marketing initiatives while fostering strong community engagement. She will leverage innovative campaigns to amplify the World Cup’s presence, ensuring it resonates deeply with diverse audiences in Miami and beyond.

Prior to joining the FIFA World Cup 26tm team, Janelle helped lead corporate communications, public relations and social responsibility for Concacaf, the Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Assocation Football. While at Concacaf, Janelle notably developed and launched Concacaf’s groundbreaking social responsibility strategy, Concacaf’s Bigger Game aimed at fostering positive change within the Confederation’s 41 member associations.

As Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Community Partnerships for the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee, Janelle served as the primary liaison with the NFL for any communications, branding and community relations needs. She served as a general spokesperson with a focus on Hispanic media. Janelle was responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing campaign, LIVE IT MIAMItm, which launched during the National Football League Handoff Ceremony in Atlanta with the premiere of the Committee’s official hype video featuring one of Miami’s most recognizable voices and prominent artists, Pitbull. The yearlong campaign aimed to highlight South Florida and all it has to offer by creating excitement and building a sense of pride within the community. She also helped develop and spearhead strategic community campaigns such as Stop Sex Trafficking with the Women’s Fund and Ocean to Everglades with the Ocean Conservancy.

Before working with the Host Committee, Janelle spent over 6 years with Diageo, the world’s largest spirits company, as Global Head of their flagship community reinvestment platform, Learning for Life™ as part of the company’s Sustainable Development team. The program, whose mission is to provide life and job skills to at-risk youth operates in over 48 countries and has graduated over 160,000+ people. During her time with the company, Janelle was able to transform a once traditional corporate social responsibility initiative into a strategic marketing platform that is fully integrated into the company’s value chain.

Previous to working at Diageo, Janelle held the role of Communications and Marketing Director for the International Kid’s Fund at Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation where she rolled out monthly international media campaigns which translated into millions of dollars’ worth of funds for the treatment of sick children from around the world. She eventually became the Executive Director where she managed a prestigious board of directors and brokered large scale partnerships with some of the community’s most influential philanthropists and organizations.

Before these accomplishments she developed reading programs for Houghton Mifflin, oversaw the roll-out of Zo’s Summer Groove and managed a diverse portfolio of accounts for Fleishman Hillard Communications in her hometown of Miami. After having begun her career in the city of New York working with various broadcast production companies such as Endemol and True Entertainment as both a writer and on-air talent. Janelle is the proud daughter of Cuban immigrants and currently resides in the Brickell area of Miami, FL.
