Abstract

In this project, we build upon the work of two previous ULINK groups, and include new expertise in Public Health Sciences, to address disparities in who is most affected by negative impacts of extreme heat exposure. The aims of this project are to understand and map the specific social justice issues local organizations are working on at the intersection of antiracism and climate justice (e.g., extreme heat, climate gentrification, hurricane/climate disaster preparedness and recovery), and explore the ways in which the ULINK team and/or other researchers/teams at UM can support their local social equity efforts.
