Biography

Diana Mercado is a Miami native and 2022 UM alumna, graduating with a B.S. in Neuroscience and minors in Chemistry, Biological Physics, and Japanese. She is currently enrolled in the M.S. Prevention Science and Community Health program in the UM Department of Public Health Sciences and assisting Drs. Todd Warner and Mary Avalos with the MDEAT Juvenile Arrest Patterns project. Diana has a plethora of experience volunteering and working to advocate for sexual abuse prevention and treatment. Her career aspirations are to disseminate educational campaigns in the community and in schools to educate individuals about sexual abuse, as well as mitigate effects of sexual abuse. In her free time, she enjoys anime, reading, and listening to audiobooks.
