Biography

Dr. Cardoso is a Medical Doctor from Brazil. She graduated in Internal Medicine at Santa Casa de Belo Horizonte and Endocrinology Fellowship at Hospital Mater Dei. She is highly experienced in behavioral and pharmacological treatment for obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Cardoso is working with Dr. Perry on the development of the THINK program from a multicultural and pediatric development perspective. She focuses on the integration of metabolic health with physical fitness and assists on the content development of the THINK program as part of the SEHD EPIC grant. Dr. Cardoso will also be assisting on the data collection of vascular markers of cardiac risk in a multiracial sample of postmenopausal women for the "The Influence of Body Composition on Vascular Health and Cardiac Risk in a Diverse Sample of Post-Menopausal Women" project. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and exercising.
