The Anchor for Oklahoma Horizon TV interviews Janet Barresi the superintendent of Oklahoma public school district about Third Grade retention for struggling readers. She explains that it is vital for Oklahoma’s workforce for students to be students on grade level by third grade. In her interview she discusses retention and the intervention that goes along with the implementation of retention in Oklahoma and how she perceives it to be effective and helpful to struggling students, she also asserts the harmful effects of social promotion.
