Art Makes You Smart

In this article, Bowen, Greene and Kisida partnered with schools and the Crystal Bridge Museum of American Art to explore the positive relationship between arts and education. Through museums tours, and a random selection of schools, they were able to determine that there is a strong correlation between art education and a range of desirable outcomes. Throughout the year, 11,000 students and 500 teachers participated in the study and immediately following they were given a survey. This survey was used to prove positive outcomes connected to art and education. In conclusion, this study proved art museums expose students to a diversity of ideas that challenge their perspective and make them a well rounded student.
