Well-Being at the SEHD

The three departments in the School of Education and Human Development collectively focus on well-being, the core component of our mission. Educational and Psychological Studies (EPS) focuses on emotional health and psychological factors; Kinesiology and Sport Sciences (KIN) promotes physical wellness, fitness, and sport; Teaching and Learning (TAL) fosters intellectual and educational development.

A special thanks to our alumni and friends who contributed this year! All contributions whether to annual giving, endowments, scholarships, or faculty support are deeply appreciated and vital to the School's growth.

Gift supports and names community well-being doctoral program

A UM alumnus committed to education establishes the Richard J. Kurtz Family Community Well-Being Doctoral Program Endowed Fellowship Fund.

Research Center

The CEW-RC seeks to promote the emotional, educational, and physical well-being of all children and families.

We strive to work with diverse and underserved populations, to support individuals who dedicate their lives to helping others, and to ensure that our work is always culturally informed and evidence based.

Richter Library

The University of Miami Libraries rank among the top research libraries in North America with a combined collection of over 3.5 million volumes and access to more than 90,000 electronic and print serials.

Other resources include 656,893 electronic books, and access to more than 1,000 electronic databases.

Dean's Dozen

A group of twelve official student ambassadors who are involved in representing our school in university and general civic community life.

The Dean’s Dozen is a voluntary group of students formed for the purpose of aiding our school in representation and recruitment of students for the University of Miami.
